Why The Wii U Has So Little Internal Memory

Find out why below.

There is a reason that the Wii U has as little memory as it does, 8GB in the Basic Set and 32GB in the Deluxe Set. Firstly they are Solid State Drives which are faster but more expensive (That’s what I think at least), and secondly we have this following quote from Reggie himself.

Quote from Reggie Fils-Aime while speaking with Engadget:

“The reason we did it that way is that the cost of that type of storage memory is plummeting. What we didn’t want to do is tie a profit model to something that’s gonna rapidly decline over time. We’ll let the consumer buy as much as they want, as cheaply as they want,”

So there you have it, and external hard drives are not really that expensive and you can use ones up to 3TB.
